Abstract

Limbah slag aluminium merupakan residu dari aktivitas daur ulang limbah aluminium yang tergolong limbah bahan berbahaya dan beracun (LB3) sehingga pembuangannya ke lingkungan tanpa proses pengolahan berpotensi menimbulkan masalah lingkungan termasuk pencemaran air tanah. Terdapat 90 titik pembuangan ilegal limbah slag aluminium yang menyebar di wilayah Kecamatan Sumobito Kabupaten Jombang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kelayakan kualitas air tanah dangkal di wilayah Kecamatan Sumobito untuk peruntukkan air minum dengan menggunakan integrasi pendekatan indeks kualitas air (Water Quality Index dan Heavy Metal Pollution Index), analisis statistik (Principal Component Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering Analysis, regresi sederhana) dan analisis geospasial dengan sistem informasi geografis. Hasil evaluasi terhadap 30 titik sumur gali di lokasi studi untuk parameter pH, TDS, DHL, Al, Pb, Cu, dan Zn menunjukkan bahwa beberapa sampel melebihi baku mutu air minum untuk parameter TDS (43,3%), DHL (30%), dan Al (76,7%). Indeks kualitas air (WQI) menunjukkan 7% sampel air sumur gali berada pada kondisi buruk untuk air minum, 73% sampel dalam kondisi baik, dan 20% sampel berada pada kondisi sangat baik. Tingkat kontaminasi logam berat berdasarkan HPI menunjukkan sebanyak 13,3% sampel air tergolong pada tingkat kontaminasi tinggi. Analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa faktor antropogenik (pembuangan limbah slag, limbah domestik, aktivitas pertanian) dan sumber alami/faktor geogenik merupakan sumber pencemar yang berkontribusi pada kualitas air di lokasi studi. Interpolasi IDW dan RBF divalidasi sebagai metode yang paling cocok untuk membuat model distribusi kualitas air tanah dan indeks kualitas air tanah di lokasi studi. Hasil pemetaan menunjukkan distribusi kualitas air tanah buruk berada di daerah utara lokasi studi mengikuti arah aliran air tanah dan merupakan daerah hilir dari kontaminan limbah slag aluminium. Pemanfaatan sumur gali untuk konsumsi pada beberapa wilayah di Desa Budugsidorejo, Desa Madiopuro, dan Desa Curahmalang tidak direkomendasikan.

Aluminum slag waste is a residue from aluminum waste recycling activities classified as hazardous and toxic waste, so its disposal into the environment without processing can cause environmental problems, including groundwater pollution. There are 90 illegal dumping areas for aluminum slag waste spread in the Sumobito District, Jombang Regency. This study evaluates the feasibility of shallow groundwater quality in the Sumobito District for drinking water use using an integrated water quality index (Water Quality Index and Heavy Metal Pollution Index), statistical analysis (Principal Component Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering Analysis, Regression), and geospatial analysis. The evaluation results of 30 dug wells at the study site for parameters pH, TDS, EC, Al, Pb, Cu, and Zn showed that some samples exceeded the quality standards for TDS (43,3%), EC (30%) and Al (76,7%). The water quality index (WQI) shows that 7% of dug well water samples are in poor drinking water conditions, 73% are in good condition, and 20% are in excellent condition. The level of heavy metal contamination based on HPI shows that 13.3% of the water samples are classified as high contamination. Multivariate analysist shows that antropoghenic factor (disposal of slag waste, domestic waste, agricultural activity) and natural sources/geogenic factor are contributed to shallow groundwater quality in the study area. IDW and RBF interpolation are validated as the most suitable method to model the distribution of groundwater quality and groundwater quality index in the study area. The mapping results show that the distribution of poor groundwater quality is in the northern area of the study location, following the direction of groundwater flow, and is a downstream area of aluminum slag waste contaminants. Dug wells usage for consumption in several areas in Budugsidorejo Village, Madiopuro Village, and Curahmalang Village are not recommended.
