Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the structure and the dynamics of personality of Miyo Sasaki in the anime Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu. This study is a qualitative descriptive research and a literature study research. The method used in this study is sociology of literature to reveal human social problems, namely psychological aspects. The theories used in this study are film narrative structure theory and Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory. Narrative structure theory is used to describe the elements in the the anime Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu. After finding the elements in the film, continuing by describing structure and dynamics of Miyo Sasaki’s personality using psychoanalysis theory.
The results of this study show that Miyo Sasaki's actions are more inclined to the Ego to fulfil the impulses of the Id. Superego has not worked optimally to restrain Id's impulses. This makes Miyo's personality someone who does not care about social norms and is not careful in making decisions. Meanwhile, Miyo's personality dynamics in the form of life and death instincts are indicated through feelings of falling in love and the desire to turn into a cat to leave her human life. The anxiety experienced by Miyo are realistic anxiety and neurotic anxiety.
