Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the narrative structure of the anime film Persona 3 The Movie #1 spring of birth and also the self-actualization of Makoto Yuuki's character.

The method used in this thesis is qualitative method with descriptive model and psychological approach with literature review. The theory used in analyzing this research is Himawan Pratista's film narrative theory and Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory.

Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that each individual has a tendency to fulfil needs and achieve self-actualization, in the process of fulfilling needs there will be efforts exerted to get past obstacles to fulfilling needs. It can also be seen that in the achievement of self-actualization there will be influences both from inside and outside of self.
