Abstract

Coastal tourism is a form of tourism that is oriented towards the marine (ocean) environment. This type of tourism utilizes the beach as a source of tourism attraction, either directly (tourism activities carried out in the ocean) or indirectly (tourism activities carried out on the beach).
Purworejo Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java Province which is located in the southern part of Java Island so that it has various beaches that can be used as tourist destinations. Tourism development in the southern coast of Purworejo Regency is directed to the development of natural tourism where each beach has a featured theme such as Jatimalang Beach with a culinary tourism theme, Ketawang Indah Beach with an educational tourism theme, and Keburuhan Beach with a marine tourism theme.
Ketawang Indah Beach has tourism potential that can provide income to regional income. The design of Ketawang Indah Beach based on educational tourism in Purworejo Regency is expected to increase the attractiveness of tourists to visit Purworejo Regency. With the high number of tourist visits, the trade sector will be able to be boosted through the purchasing power of tourist visitors. In addition, the existence of this tourist destination can be a magnet to attract investment and investment which will have a positive impact on employment.
