Abstract

Regional head elections are often considered the moment of a democratic
party in a region and also a benchmark in the implementation of democracy itself.
The community is given the opportunity to determine who will become a leader in
a region, both in the legislature and in the executive. The 2020 simultaneous
regional elections in Bandung Regency became the 20th year that the leadership of
the regional head in Bandung Regency was led by a family from the Bandung
Regency Golkar party, namely H. Obar Sobarna. Obar Sobarna has led Bandung
Regency for 2 periods, namely from 2000-2010. After his leadership for 2 periods,
Golkar and Obar Sobarna appointed Dadang Naser to run for the next election in
2010-2016. Dadang Naser himself is the son-in-law of Obar Sobarna.
This research found that the emergence of Kurnia Agustina or often called
Teh Nia in the Bandung Regency elections in 2020 made the family dynasty indeed
being continued in Bandung Regency, because for the last 20 years Bandung
Regency has been led by the extended family of Obar Sobarna. But in the count
results conducted by the Bandung Regency KPU, the pair Dadang Supriatna and
Sahrul Gunawan won hands down over the other pairs, namely Kurnia AgustinaUsman and also the Yenna-Atep pair. Kurnia Agustina-Usman got a percentage
(27.64), Yenna Atep pair with a percentage (18.89) and Dadang Supriatna-Sahrul
Gunawan pair with (53.47).
The conclusion of this research is an important point on the defeat of Obar
Sobarna's dynasty in the Bandung Regency elections shows from the factors of
Rational, Sociology and Psychology that the psychological and background of the
candidate pair made the Kurnia-Usman pair lose in the elections the defeat received
by the Kurnia Usman pair was also so crushing by the Dadang-Sahrul pair. People
who no longer have a psychological relationship with the family of the previous
leader and are also tired of Obar Sobarna's dynastic leadership made the pair
ultimately lose in the 2020 simultaneous elections in Bandung Regency.
