Abstract

Literasi informasi disebut juga dengan melek informasi. Yakni kesadaran akan
kebutuhan informasi seseorang, mengidentifikasi, pengaksesan secara efektif dan
efesien, mengevaluasi dan menggabungkan informasi secara legal kedalam
pengetahuan dan mengkomunikasikan informasi tersebut. Penelitian Dengan
kesadaran ini akan mendukung proses pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Yayasan komunitas sahabat mata Mijen
Semarang dalam menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi informasi tunanetra. Metode
penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dan teknik
pengumpulan data adalah wawancara dan observasi. Informan didapatkan melalui
purposive sampling dan didapatkan tiga orang informan yang merupakan satu orang
ketua Yayasan dan dua orang pengasuh komunitas sahabat mata. Teknik yang
digunakan untuk menganalisa data yang telah terkumpul adalah thematic analysis.
Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa ditemukan tiga tema yang berkaitan dengan peran
menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi informasi. Tema pertama adalah literasi
informasi tunanetra melalui Komunitas Sahabat Mata. Tema kedua yaitu kendala
tunanetra dalam menumbuhan kemampuan literasi iformasi. Tema ketiga adalah
peran Yayasan Komunitas Sahabat Mata Mijen Semarang dalam menumbuhkan
kemampuan literasi informasi tunanetra.
Information literacy is also known as information literacy. Namely awareness of
one's information needs, identify, access effectively and efficiently, evaluate and
legally incorporate information into knowledge and communicate that information.
Research With this awareness will support the process of lifelong learning. This
study aims to determine the role of the Mitra Mata Mijen Semarang Community
Foundation in developing information literacy skills for the blind. The research
method used in this study is a qualitative method and data collection techniques are
interviews and observations. Informants were obtained through purposive
sampling and obtained three informants who are the chairman of the Foundation
and two caregivers of the community of eye friends. The technique used to analyze
the data that has been collected is thematic analysis. The results show that there
are four themes related to the role of growing information literacy skills. The first
theme is the need for the blind to develop information literacy skills. The second
theme is choosing and using the senses to grow information literacy skills. The third
theme is obstacles in growing information literacy skills. The last theme is the
determination of the ability to act in growing the information literacy of the blind
to increase.
