Abstract

Advanced Search retrieval is a search for information that can find information to
be less and more relevant. This study aims to determine the effect of Advanced
Search training on the portal Journal Emerald Insight for the ability of research
Information of Studies Program S-1 Library Science students the year 2017
Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. The method used in this study is
quantitative research method with experimental research approach. The study
respondents consisted of two groups: Treatment group (group was given
Advanced Search treatment) and control group (which was not treated), each
group consisted of 28 students. Techniques in taking informants used is random
sampling. Method Data analyses used are validity test, reliability test, normality
test, and hypothesis test. Result of t test analysis is equal to 12,4448, while t table
value is equal to 1.67356, because t count = 12,4448> t table = 1,67356, then H0
is refused and H1 is accepted. Based on the results of the analysis that has been
done, it is known that the existence of Advanced Search training has an effect on
the information retrieval ability of S-1 Library Science students the year 2017
Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. The results of the Advanced
Search training had an influence of 41.82%, and 58.18% influenced by other
factors.

Penelusuran Advanced Search merupakan pencarian informasi yang dapat
menemukan informasi menjadi lebih sedikit dan relevan. Penelitian ini bertujuan
untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihanAdvanced Searchpada portal Jurnal Emerald
Insight bagi Kemampuan Penelitian Informasi Mahasiswa Program Studi S-1
Ilmu Perpustakaan Angkatan 2017 Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro.
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif
dengan pendekatan penelitian eksperimen. Responden penelitian terdiri dari dua
kelompok yaitu kelompok Treatment (kelompok diberi perlakuan Advanced
Search) dan kelompok kontrol (yang tidak diberi perlakuan), masing-masing
kelompok terdiri dari 28 mahasiswa. Teknik dalam pengambilan informan
menggunakan random sampling. Metode Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas,
uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil analisis uji t sebesar
12,4448, sedangkan nilai t tabel sebesar 1,67356, karena thitung = 12,4448> ttabel =
1,67356, maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah
dilakukan, diketahui bahwa dengan adanya pelatihanAdvanced Search
berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan penelusuran informasi mahasiswa S-1 Ilmu
Perpustakaan Angkatan 2017 Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro.
Hasil dari pelatihanAdvanced Search mempunyai pengaruh sebesar 41,82%, dan
58,18% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.
