Abstract
This research aims to identify the public relations strategies used by National
Library of Republic of Indonesia in facing generation Z users. To do so, researchers
use a qualitative approach by conducting semi-structured interviews with the head
of public relations subsection in National Library of Republic of Indonesia and by
observing some of their social media pages. Thereafter, the data that had been
obtained was scrutinized with thematic approach. This finding shows that National
Library of Republic of Indonesia has implemented public relations strategies by
utilizing social media as a key media for their public relations, providing facilities
and activities that will broaden generation Z's experiences when visiting the library
and collaborating with nano-influencers to disseminate the information that the
library has. All the strategies that National Library of Republic of Indonesia has
implemented can be said as successful as they receive feedback such as suggestions,
comments, visitation and engagement from their users.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi public relations yang digunakan
oleh Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia dalam menghadapi pemustaka
generasi Z. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif.
Dalam mengambil data penelitian, Peneliti melakukan wawancara semi terstruktur
kepada Kepala Sub Bagian Humas Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia
sebagai partisipan dan melakukan observasi melalui beberapa laman media sosial
Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia. Data yang diperoleh melalui
wawancara dan observasi kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan thematic
analysis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Perpustakaan Nasional Republik
Indonesia telah menerapkan strategi public relations dengan menggunakan media
sosial sebagai media utama public relations-nya, memberikan fasilitas dan kegiatan
yang dapat menambah pengalaman generasi Z setelah mengunjungi perpustakaan
dan bekerjasama dengan nano-influencers untuk menyebarluaskan informasi yang
dimilikinya. Beberapa strategi public relations yang telah diterapkan oleh
Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia dapat dikatakan berhasil karena telah
menerima feedback berupa saran, komentar, kunjungan, dan engagement dari
pemustaka-nya.
