Abstract

This research dealsd with the experience of ODOP Community Batch 8 authors'
information literacy in writings. The purpose is no other than to evaluate their
raising capabilities. The used method is qualitative method, along with data
collection technique: observation and semi-structure interview. This examination's
informants are members of ODOP Community Batch 8, eight people in total
selected based on purposive sampling. The used data analysis method is thematic
analysis. The results show that information literacy activities of ODOP Community
Batch 8 authors have been successfully supporting their improvement in writing
skills. This matter can be seen from their experience when the writing process was
not only successful in creating informative works, but also enabled them to explore
their writings and find new understandings of what they had not previously known.
The writers of ODOP Community Batch 8 first determines all necessary
information they need before writing, so that the writing is more conceptual. After
that, they carried out the process of searching for information, managing
information, communicating information in written form, and sharing it with
friends or social media so that readers can easily find it. In searching for
information, ODOP Community Batch 8 authors face some obstacles such as the
large amount of information presented, making them confused and difficult to get
the information they needed, so they had to look for information elsewhere.
Meanwhile, in writing, the problem is that the consistency of writing is less than
optimal due to the packed activity on daily basis.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengalaman literasi informasi penulis Komunitas
ODOP Batch 8 dalam menciptakan tulisan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui
pengalaman literasi informasi penulis Komunitas ODOP Batch 8 dalam
meningkatkan kemampuan menulis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah
observasi dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah
delapan orang yang merupakan anggota Komunitas ODOP dari batch 8 dan dipilih
berdasarkan purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah
thematics analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan literasi informasi
yang dilakukan penulis Komunitas ODOP Batch 8 berhasil menunjang peningkatan
kemampuan menulis mereka. Hal itu terlihat dari pengalaman penulis Komunitas
ODOP Batch 8 ketika proses penciptaan tulisan yang tidak hanya berhasil
menciptakan karya yang informatif, tetapi juga membuat mereka dapat
mengeksplorasi tulisannya dan menemukan pemahaman baru terhadap apa yang
belum diketahui sebelumnya. Penulis Komunitas ODOP Batch 8 lebih dahulu
menentukan kebutuhan informasi yang dibutuhkannya sebelum menulis, agar
tulisan tersebut lebih terkonsep. Setelah itu, penulis Komunitas ODOP Batch 8
melakukan proses pencarian informasi, pengelolaan informasi, pengomunikasian
informasi ke dalam bentuk tulisan, dan membagikannya ke teman atau media sosial
agar mudah ditemukan pembaca. Dalam melakukan pencarian informasi, penulis
Komunitas ODOP Batch 8 menghadapi kendala seperti banyaknya informasi yang
tersaji, membuat mereka bingung dan sulit mendapatkan informasi yang
dibutuhkannya, sehingga harus mencari informasi di tempat lain. Sedangkan dalam
menulis, kendalanya adalah konsistensi menulis yang kurang optimal karena
kesibukan di kehidupan sehari-hari.
