Abstract

This research is entitled "Preventive Preservation of Vital Archives in the Office of
the Head of Munggangsari Village as an Effort to Anticipate Natural Disasters". This
study aims to determine how the Office of the Head of Munggangsari Village,
Ngadirejo Subdistrict, conducts preventive preservation of vital archives that are
owned as an effort to anticipate disasters. The method used in this research is
descriptive qualitative research methods with an action research approach. The data
collection techniques used were observation, interview and documentation study. The
technique of selecting informants using purposive sampling method. The results of
this study indicate that the Munggangsari Village Head Office has not maximally
performed preventive preservation of vital archives with the location of the
Munggangsari Village Head Office which is on the slopes of Mount Sindoro which is
active. Actions taken by the Munggangsari Village Head Office in preventive
preservation of vital archives by physically storing vital archives in the filling
cabinet. Then the researchers held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the results of
the FGD were then agreed to make guidelines for the preventive preservation of vital
archives, and applied them as a tool for the stages of the preventive preservation of
vital archives. After the implementation of the vital archive preventive preservation
manual has a positive impact on staff, by carrying out preventive preservation
measures coherently to protect the contents and physical of vital archives at the
Munggangsari Village Head Office.

Penelitian ini berjudul “Preservasi Preventif Arsip Vital di Kantor Pemerintahan Desa
Munggangsari Sebagai Upaya Antisipasi Terhadap Bencana Alam”. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kantor Pemerintahan Desa Munggangsari
Kecamatan Ngadirejo melakukan preservasi preventif arsip vital yang dimiliki
sebagai upaya antisipasi terhadap bencana. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini
adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan action research.
Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu observasi, wawancara dan studi
dokumentasi. Teknik pemilihan informan dengan menggunakan metode purposive
sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kantor Pemerintahan Desa
Munggangsari belum maksimal dalam melakukan preservasi preventif arsip vital
dengan keadaan lokasi Kantor Pemerintahan Desa Munggangsari yang berada di
lereng gunung Sindoro yang bertatus aktif. Tindakan yang dilakukan Kantor
Pemerintahan Desa Munggangsari dalam preservasi preventif arsip vital dengan
menyimpan fisik arsip vital pada filling cabinet. Kemudian peneliti mengadakan
Focus Group Discussion (FGD), hasil dari FGD kemudian disepakati untuk
pembuatan pedoman preservasi preventif arsip vital, serta diterapkan sebagai alat
bantu tahapan-tahapan proses preservasi preventif arsip vital. Setelah dilakukan
penerapan buku pedoman preservasi preventif arsip vital berdampak positif bagi staf,
dengan melaksanakan tindakan preservasi preventif secara runtut demi melindungi isi
dan fisik arsip vital di Kantor Pemerintahan Desa Munggangsari.
