Abstract

This research entitled "Record Preservation as the Efforts to Save the Use Value
of Information at the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center of Yogyakarta". The
purpose of the research is to know how the Cultural Heritage Conservation
Center of Yogyakarta did the record preservation activities for the effort to save
the use value of information. The study used descriptive qualitative methods, with
interviews, observation and literature study for data collection techniques. The
results of the study show the record preservation activities at the Yogyakarta
Cultural Heritage Conservation Center played a role in saving the use value of
information. The record preservation activities carried out in a preventive and
curative way can be an effort to save the use value of the information which is
contained in the record because the preservation activity is a way to efforts for
carried out physical record preservation which have an impact on preserved the
contents of the record information that contained in it.

Penelitian ini berjudul “Preservasi Arsip Statis sebagai Salah Satu Upaya
Penyelamatan Nilai Guna Informasi di Balai Pelestarian Cagar Budaya
D.I.Yogyakarta”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang
kegiatan preservasi arsip statis yang dilakukan oleh Balai Pelestarian Cagar
Budaya D.I.Yogyakarta dalam upaya penyelamatan nilai guna informasi..
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik
pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil
dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan preservasi arsip statis yang
dilakukan di Balai Pelestarian Cagar Budaya D.I.Yogyakarta berperan terhadap
penyelamatan nilai guna informasi yang terkandung di dalam arsip yang disimpan.
Kegiatan preservasi arsip statis yang dilakukan dengan cara preventif dan kuratif
dapat menjadi salah satu upaya dalam penyelamatan nilai guna informasi yang
terkandung di dalam arsip dikarenakan kegiatan preservasi tersebut merupakan
serangkaian upaya dalam melakukan penjagaan fisik arsip yang berdampak pada
terjaganya isi informasi arsip yang ada di dalamnya.
