Abstract

Penerapan manajemen lingkungan oleh perusahaan guna mewujudkan sustainable development atau pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pada perusahaan kertas PT XYZ telah diterapkan pengelolaan limbah, namun hal ini harus dievaluasi agar upaya mewujudkan sustainable development dapat berjalan dengan efektif. Penelitian difokuskan pada limbah padat, dimulai dengan tujuan menganalisis klasifikasi limbah padat yang ditimbulkan, menganalisis pelaksanaan pengelolaan limbah padat, mengevaluasi pengelolaan limbah padat, serta mengembangkan potensi untuk menuju ke industri hijau. Jenis metode penelitian ini berdasarkan tujuan yang ingin dicapai yaitu metode penelitian terapan (applied research), dan berdasarkan tingkat kealamiahan, penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian naturalistik / kualitatif. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan pengelolaan limbah telah dijalankan sesuai dengan prinsip 5R produksi bersih, hanya ada beberapa potensi yang belum dimaksimalkan karena terbentur berbagai kendala di manajemen perusahaan seperti besarnya nilai efisiensi pengadaan alat pemanfaatan limbah plastik, serta fasilitas tempat untuk mengeringkan limbah plastik yang keadaannya masih basah ketika keluar dari proses produksi. Sebaiknya dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai kendala pada pemanfaatan limbah, seperti mencari solusi untuk mengeringkan limbah plastik yang basah serta memisahkan buburan kertas yang menempel pada limbah plastik. Keterlibatan instansi lingkungan seperti KLHK (Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan) daerah dan BLH (Badan Lingkungan Hidup) juga diperlukan untuk mencari solusi bersama manajemen mengenai berbagai kendala terlaksananya produksi bersih di industri kertas.

The Implementation of environmental management by the company in order to create sustainable development. At the paper indistry named PT XYZ, waste management has been implemented, but this must be evaluated so that the efforts to create sustainable development can run effectively. The research focused on solid waste, starting with the aim of analyzing the implementation of waste management, evaluating the management of solid waste that containts hazardous and toxic substances as well as non-hazardous and toxic substances, and also knowing the potential to move towards a green industry. Based on the objectives to be achieved, the method type of this research is applied research methods, and based on the level of naturalness, this research is a naturalistic / qualitative research method. The results obtained from this study are that the implementation of waste management has been carried out in accordance with the 5R principle of clean production, there are only a few potentials that have not been maximized due to various obstacles in the company's management such as the value of the efficiency of the procurement of plastic waste utilization tools, as well as facilities for drying plastic waste which is still wet when it comes out right of the production process. It is recommended that further research be conducted on the constraints on the utilization of waste, such as finding solutions to dry wet plastic waste and separating the paper pulp attached to the plastic waste. The involvement of environmental agencies such as the regional KLHK (Ministry of Environment and Forestry) and BLH (Environmental Agency) is also needed to find solutions with management regarding various obstacles to implementing clean production in the paper industry.
