Mangrove ecosystem is one of the potential parameters to be studied from the blue carbon ecosystem. Mangrove uses carbon dioxide for photosynthesis process and stores it in biomass and sediment stocks as a climate change mitigation effort. The study aims to determine the diversity index, carbon stock in mangrove stands and substrate in Bedono Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency. Therefore, this research is needed on standing carbon stock using allometric equations and knowing tree species and diameter (DBH) using vegetation analysis. Meanwhile, to determine the sediment carbon stock using sediment cores with ashing technique analysis. The results showed that the highest density value was at Station II which was dominated by Avicennia marina and Rhizopora mucronata with a density of 1400 ind / ha. The estimation of standing carbon stock in the Bedono mangrove ecosystem is 222,42 tonnes / ha with CO2 carbon uptake of 815.55 tonnes / ha while the estimated carbon stock of sediment at all stations is 159,52 tonnes / ha. The highest carbon value in sediment was influenced by the type of sediment, vegetation, and sediment ages.
