Abstract
The difficulty of achieving asset growth targets amid economic uncertainty can negatively impact employee work engagement, making psychological capital crucial for ensuring that employees remain engaged in their work. This study aims to examine the relationship between psychological capital and work engagement among employees in Bank X Kota Semarang. This study employs a quantitative method with a sample size of 105 active head office employees. Data collection utilized the PCQ-12 (α= 0,89) and UWES-9 (α= 0,85) scales, employing purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The research data were analysed using simple regression analysis and additional descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate a significant positive relationship between psychological capital and work engagement (r = 0.640; p < 0.001), with psychological capital contributing 41% to work engagement. Descriptive analysis revealed that the majority of respondents fell into the high category for psychological capital (50.47%) and the very high category for work engagement (37.14%). Further analysis indicated that Funding department is the work unit with the highest score for psychological capital and work engagement.
