Abstract

Food refusal in stunted toddlers is a major barrier to adequate nutritional intake and may reduce the effectiveness of the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT). Inadequate family involvement during mealtimes can further worsen food refusal behavior and hinder improvements in nutritional status. This community service program aimed to implement a locally sourced Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT) accompanied by family education using a responsive feeding approach to improve the nutritional status of stunted toddlers. The program was conducted among two families with stunted toddlers in the working area of Rowosari Community Health Center, Semarang City, for seven days. Activities included the provision of locally sourced supplementary foods and family education on responsive feeding practices. Evaluation on day seven showed improvements in nutritional status indicators. Child G's weight increased from 9.4 kg to 9.6 kg (+0.2 kg), while Child R's weight increased from 8.15 kg to 8.4 kg (+0.25 kg). Food consumption also improved, with Child G consuming a full portion and Child R consuming three-quarters of a portion. These findings suggest that PMT implementation combined with responsive feeding education can improve food intake and weight gain among stunted toddlers.
