Abstract
Tujuan : tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas arang aktif dalam mengadsorbsi Enterococcus faecalis. Metode : penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan desain post-test with control group. Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 sampel Enterococcus faecalis yang direndam dalam arang aktif dengan variasi waktu 30 menit, 1, 2, dan 3 jam yang dibandingkan dengan kontrol grup. Hasil : terdapat perbedaan bermakna dengan nilai p = 0,026 (p<0,05) dan waktu efektif dalam mengadsorbsi bakteri yaitu pada 1 dan 2 jam dengan nilai p = 0,008 dan 0,026. Kesimpulan : arang aktif efektif dalam mengurangi koloni Enterococcus faecalis dengan waktu adsorbsi efektif yaitu 1 sampai 2 jam.
