Abstract
Balqis. 13050111140085. 2016. Discourse Analysis of Issunboushi and
Momotarou Short Stories. Thesis: Japanese Literature. Faculty of Humanities.
Diponegoro University. Semarang.
Research problems discussed in this research are: 1. How are the
grammatical analysis aspect and lexical aspect in Issunboushi and Momotarou
short stories? 2. How are the characteristics of grammatical aspect and lexical
aspect in Issunboushi short stories? 3. How are the cultural context contained in
Issunboushi and Momotarou short stories?
The purposes of this research are: 1. To describe the grammatical aspect
and lexical aspect in Issunboushi and Momotarou short stories. 2. To describe the
characteristics of grammatical aspect and lexical aspect in Issunboushi and
Momotarou short stories. 3. To describe the cultural context of Issunboushi and
Momotarou short stories.
This research is a qualitative research. The research method used is agih
method. In analyzing the data, this research used technique for direct element,
lesap and switching technique.
The result of researchshows that the discourses of Issunboushi and
Momotarou short stories consist of grammatical and lexical aspects. Those two
aspects are well-synchronized, therefore their meaning is easily understood by the
readers. Grammatical aspect consists of reference, substitution, ellipsis, and
conjunction. Lexical aspect consists of repetition, synonym, antonym, and
hyponym. The characteristics of the grammatical and lexical aspects are the use
of reference markers and repetition. In addition, this research also finds that
those two short stories are full of Japanese culture.
