Sulistyorini, Dinar Rosita. “Unsur-unsur Agama Shinto dalam Festival Setsubun”. Thesis. Department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities. Diponegoro University. The first advisor. Dr Redyanto Noor, M.Hum. The second advisor. Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum.
Until now the festival Setsubun still done in Japan. The ceremony is performed at the festival Setsubun is Mame-Maki. This ceremony was held with the aim to expel evil spirits, and hope that the health and smoothness blessed for their business. In the ceremony Mame-maki contained the essential elements of the Shinto belief; harai (purification), Shinsen (offerings), Norito (prayer), and naorai (eating together). Nuts have an important role in the ceremony Mame-Maki. To throw a demon, soybeans used in ceremonies Mame-Maki.
