Abstract

This study aims to implement a program carried out by the public relations command of the city of Semarang which aims to treat waste in Semarang and reduce the amount of waste that is stockpiled in the city of Semarang. addressed to the community by using communication that is easy to understand and can be carried out by the community, to find out the obstacles that exist in conducting socialization to the community about the Semarang Wegah Nyampah program, to analyze the communication process carried out by the government in the Semarang Wegah Nyampah program, to find out the solutions used by the community. This government can later be used as the basis for solving problems that will be carried out by the government in tackling waste with the Semarang Wegah Nyampah program.
The research method in this study uses qualitative analysis with a single case study. The type of research carried out in this study is qualitative or naturalistic research, because the focus of research is on observation and natural atmosphere. Single case study case refers to a case study which focuses on one problem case as in this study, namely discussing Semarang wegah nyampah, where the analysis was carried out using observations and interviews conducted with 4 sources.
The conclusion of the study provides a positive value for the people of the city of Semarang. Then using trance communication which means directly conveying openly or offline to the community, by cooperating with Kertabumi Waste Clinic, a kind of foundation that is engaged in recycling plastic waste to then become more valuable and useful items that can be used for everyday life.
