Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how directing leadership style affects work
motivation and communication climate, as well as employee job satisfaction. A
quantitative method was used to perform this study. A total of 42 participants took
part in this study, which used a saturation sample approach. Descriptive statistical
analysis, cross tabulation analysis, simple linear regression analysis, multiple linear
regression analysis, and the Sobel test were all utilized in the data analysis. In this
study, four hypotheses were accepted, and the data supported the model; three
hypotheses were rejected, and the data did not support the model. H1: Directing
leadership style has no significant effect on job satisfaction. H2: Directing
leadership style has a significant and positive impact on work motivation. H3: A
directing leadership style has a significant and positive impact on communication
climate. H4: Job satisfaction is influenced by work motivation in a favorable and
substantial way. H5: Job satisfaction has no significant effect on communication
climate. H6: The influence of directing leadership style on job satisfaction will be
positively mediated by work motivation. H7: The influence of directing leadership
style on job satisfaction is not mediated by communication climate.
Conclusions: (1) The more the work motivation produced, the better the directing
leadership style used, and vice versa. (2) The greater the communication climate,
the better the directing leadership style used, and vice versa. (3) The larger the job
satisfaction generated, the stronger the present work motivation, and vice versa. (4)
The more the influence of directing leadership style on job satisfaction, the higher
the mediating variable element of work motivation.
