Abstract
Tangki timbun di Terminal Bahan Bakar Minyak (TBBM) menampung semua jenis produk, mulai dari minyak bumi dan produk minyak bumi, seperti minyak mentah, solar dan bahan bakar jet, barang pertanian seperti minyak zaitun dan molase, bahan kimia, dan banyak lagi. Kegiatan TBBM ini sering melakukan pembuangan air limbah ke badan air seperti halnya PT XYZ. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji dampak pembuangan limbah cair dari TBBM terhadap badan air. Hasil analisis kualitas minyak dan lemak serta Total Organic Carbon (TOC) dari April 2023 hingga Maret 2024 menunjukkan bahwa parameter minyak dan lemak melebihi nilai baku mutu, tetapi pH dan TOC masih memenuhi standar baku mutu air limbah. Dengan menggunakan metode Storet, perairan Teluk Balikpapan sebagai penerima air limbah masuk ke dalam kategori tercemar ringan dengan nilai -8. Untuk itu, efektivitas Instalasi Pengolah Air Limbah (IPAL) TBBM perlu ditingkatkan untuk memastikan kinerja optimal.

Storage tanks at Fuel Terminals (TBBM) stores various products from petroleum and petroleum refined products, such as crude oil, diesel and jet fuel. Also, agricultural products such as olive oil and molasses, chemicals, and more. The activities of this TBBM often discharge wastewater into water bodies likewise PT XYZ. This study aims to examine the impact of liquid waste disposal from TBBM to water bodies. The results of the analysis of oil and grease quality and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) from April 2023 to March 2024 showed that the oil and grease parameters exceeded the standard quality values, but the pH and TOC still met the wastewater quality standards. Using the Storet method, the waters of Balikpapan Bay as the recipient of wastewater are included in the lightly polluted category with a value of -8. For this reason, the effectiveness of the TBBM Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) needs to be improved to ensure optimal performance.
