Abstract

This research aims to develop GenZionary, a digital dictionary designed to make
it easier to understand the language used by Generation Z. GenZionary is expected to be an
effective learning tool for parents, educators, and other users in overcoming the
communication gap between generations caused by the development of digital language.
This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method to design, test, and refine
the dictionary to suit user needs. The research stages include identification of user needs,
initial product development, field trials, revision based on feedback, and final refinement.
The result of this research is an interactive digital dictionary designed to help parents,
educators, and other users understand the terms used by Generation Z on social media and
messaging applications. With GenZionary, it is expected to create more effective
communication and deeper understanding between Generation Z and previous generations,
and support cross-generational learning in the context of digital language.
