Abstract

ABSTRAK
(Reza Ayu Kusuma Ardani. 26020119130053. Pengaruh Jenis Tanaman
Berbeda terhadap Konsentrasi Amonia dan Nitrat Perairan, serta Pertumbuhan dan
Kelulushidupan Benih Cyprinus carpio pada Sistem Akuaponik. Dicky
Harwanto dan Slamet Budi Prayitno).
Aplikasi intensifikasi akuakultur berdampak pada penurunan kualitas air
budidaya. Penerapan sistem akuaponik mampu memperbaiki dan
mempertahankan performa kualitas air agar tetap optimal.

ABSTRACT
(Reza Ayu Kusuma Ardani. 26020119130053. Effect of Different Plant
Species on Ammonia and Nitrate Concentration, Growth and Survival of Cyprinus
carpio Fry in Aquaponic System. Dicky Harwanto and Slamet Budi Prayitno).
The application of aquaculture intensification has an impact on the decline
of water quality. The application of aquaponic systems can improve and maintain
optimal water quality performance. Carp (Cyprinus carpio) cultivation in
aquaponic systems needs to consider the use of plant species as biofilters with
high processing and absorption capacity of aquaculture waste. This study aims to
determine the differences in the effect of the use of plant species and the most
effective plant species in reducing ammonia and nitrate. Evaluation of filter
performance was measured using Volumetric TAN Removal (VTR TAN). Growth
and survival of carp fry were also observed. The study was conducted for 28 days.
The density was 12 fish/container (2.13 g/L) with an average weight and length of
3.19±0.14 grams and 5.7±0.26 cm. This study used an experimental method with a
CRD with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatment was the use of different
plant species in the aquaponic system, P0 (no plants), Pk (water spinach), Pc
(caisim), and Pp (pakchoi). The observed variables include water quality, weight
and length growth, Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Survival Rate (SR), Feed
Conversion Ratio (FCR), and plant growth. The results showed that the use of
different plant species had a significant effect (P<0.05) on ammonia and nitrate
concentrations, growth, and survival of carp fry. The best water quality with VTR
TAN was 93.686±3.16 g/m3
/day (Pk) and nitrate was 46.1±0.91 mg/l (Pc). The
growth of carp fry was best in the Pc treatment with weight and length of
3.11±0.06 grams and 1.5±0.2 cm; SGR of 2.44±0.04%/day; and FCR of
1.66±0.09. The aquaponics system with plants had 100% SR. The best plant
growth was 18.50±0.90 cm in length (Pk). The difference in ammonia and nitrate
absorption ability with different plants was due to the number and type of root
branching.
