Sungai Kali Asin merupakan salah satu Sungai yang terletak di Semarang yang bermuara ke laut jawa. Sungai tersebut berada di desa Bandar Harjo yang merupakan daerah sentra pengasapan ikan pari. Ikan asap merupakan salah satu produk olahan yang digemari konsumen di Indonesia karena memiliki rasa dan aroma yang khas. Proses pengasapan ikan biasanya dilakukan secara tradisional menggunakan peralatan yang sederhana serta kurang memperhatikan dalam aspek sanitasi dan higienis sehingga dapat memberikan dampak negatif bagi kesehatan dan lingkungan. Daerah tersebut termasuk kedalam kategori pemukiman warga yang kumuh karena aktivitas penduduknya yang sering membuang sampah di sungai. Nitrat, fosfat, dan klorofil-a merupakan salah satu variabel utama yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya eutrofikasi di suatu perairan. Kesuburan perairan biasanya dihubungkan dengan konsentrsi nutrien dalam badan perairan. Tinggi rendahnya kandungan klorofil-a memiliki keterkaitan dengan pasokan nutrien yang berasal dari darat melalui aliran sungai. Proses fotosintesis dipengaruhi oleh faktor konsentrasi klorofil-a dan intensitas cahaya matahari. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi kesuburan perairan Sungai Kali Asin yang ditinjau dari aspek konsentrasi nitrat,fosfat,dan klorofil-a. Metode pengambilan sampel dengan cara purposive sampling dan dianalisis dengan metode Trophic State Index (TSI) dan analisis regresi. Konsentrasi nitrat yang terdapat di Sungai Kali Asin berkisar antara 0,2 – 7,8 mg/L, konsentrasi fosfat berkisar antara 0,83 – 2 mg/L, dan hasil dari klorofil-a berkisar antara 1,033 – 14,693 mg/L. Hasil hitungan Trophic State Index (TSI), Sungai Kali Asin termasuk ke dalam kategori kesuburan tinggi (eutrofik). Persamaan regresi yang menggambarkan hubungan antara konsentrasi nitrat, fosfat, dengan konsentrasi klorofil-a adalah Y=2,092+0,629X1+3,24X2.

The Kali Asin River is a river located in Semarang which empties into the Java Sea. The river is located in the village of Bandar Harjo which is a center for stingray smoking. Smoked fish is a processed product that is popular with consumers in Indonesia because it has a distinctive taste and aroma. The process of smoking fish is usually done traditionally using simple equipment and paying little attention to sanitation and hygiene aspects so that it can have a negative impact on health and the environment. The area is included in the category of slum settlements because the activities of its residents often throw garbage in the river. Nitrate, phosphate, and chlorophyll-a are the main variables that can cause eutrophication in waters. Water fecundity is usually associated with nutrient concentrations in water bodies. The high or low content of chlorophyll-a is related to the supply of nutrients originating from land through rivers. The process of photosynthesis is influenced by the concentration of chlorophyll-a and the intensity of sunlight. The aim of this study was to determine the condition of the fertility of the waters of the Kali Asin River in terms of the concentrations of nitrate, phosphate and chlorophyll-a. The sampling method was purposive sampling and analyzed using the Trophic State Index (TSI) method and regression analysis. Nitrate concentrations found in the Kali Asin River ranged from 0.2 – 7.8 mg/L, phosphate concentrations ranged from 0.83 – 2 mg/L, and the yield of chlorophyll-a ranged from 1.033 – 14.693 mg/L. Based on the results of the Trophic State Index (TSI) calculation, the Kali Asin River is included in the high fecundity (eutrophic) category. The regression equation that describes the relationship between concentrations of nitrate, phosphate and chlorophyll-a concentration is Y=2,092+0,629X1+3,24X2.
