Ikan platy pedang jantan memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi dan banyak diminati masyarakat karena memiliki warna, bentuk dan ekor yang lebih menarik dibandingkan betinanya. Persentase Ikan platy pedang jantan hasil pemijahan dapat ditingkatkan dengan teknik jantanisasi. Teknik jantanisasi dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai macam bahan. Pada penelitian bahan yang digunakan adalah madu hutan Sumatera penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh madu hutan Sumatera untuk jantanisasi ikan platy pedang (Xiphophorus helleri) dengan metode perendaman induk betina bunting. Rancangan Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan penambahan madu dengan dosis berbeda. Perbedaan perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A = 0 ml/L, perlakuan B = 25 ml/L, perlakuan C = 55 ml/L, dan perlakuan D = 75 ml/L dengan waktu perendaman 12 jam. Setiap perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan madu berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase kelamin jantan dengan hasil terbaik pada perlakuan D 68,39±1,02%, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelulushidupan ikan platy pedang yang dihasilkan.

Male swordtail platy fish have high economic value and are highly sought after by the community due to their more attractive color, shape, and tail compared to females. The percentage of male swordtail platy fish from breeding can be increased through masculinization techniques. Masculinization can be done using various substances. In this study, Sumatran rainforest honey was used to determine the effect of Sumatran honey on the masculinization of swordtail platy fish (Xiphophorus helleri) through the immersion method of pregnant female breeders. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment groups using different doses of honey. The different treatments were as follows: Treatment A = 0 ml/L, Treatment B = 25 ml/L, Treatment C = 55 ml/L, and Treatment D = 75 ml/L, with an immersion time of 12 hours. Each treatment was replicated 3 times. The results of the study showed that honey significantly influenced the percentage of male offspring, with the best result observed in Treatment D at 68.39±1.02%. However, honey did not have a significant effect on the survival rate of the resulting swordtail platy fish.
