Siklon Tropis Flamboyan Terhadap Suhu Permukaan Laut dan Klorofil-a di Perairan Samudera Hindia Barat Daya Sumatera. Anindya Wirasatriya dan Kunarso)

Siklon tropis flamboyan merupakan siklon tropis yang terjadi di perairan Samudera Hindia Barat Daya Sumatera. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari siklon tropis flamboyan berdasarkan data kecepatan angin, curl, dan Ekman Pumping berupa data komponen angin permukaan dan hubungannya dengan pola persebaran Suhu Permukaan Laut dan Klorofil-a. Data komponen angin akan digunakan sebagai data yang mengidentifikasi pola kecepatan dan arah pergerakan dari siklon tropis flamboyan. Data curl digunakan untuk menunjang
identifikasi pola rotasi siklon tropis dan Ekman Pumping digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya upwelling. Data Suhu Permukaan Laut dan Klorofil-a akan di overlay dengan parameter angin permukaan yang kemudian dianalisis hubungannya. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketika terjadi siklon tropis Flamboyan, kecepatan angin akan meningkat mencapai 21 m/det dan menunjukkan pola pergerakan dari arah Timur Laut ke Barat Daya, kemudian berbelok cenderung ke arah Selatan. Hubungan ketika terjadi siklon tropis Flamboyan antara pola arus dengan Suhu Permukaan Laut dan Klorofil-a ditunjukkan dengan kecepatan angin yang meningkat dan pola rotasi curl bernilai positif kuat, konsentrasi Suhu Permukaan Laut akan menurun dan konsentrasi klorofil-a akan meningkat karena adanya upwelling akibat mekanisme Ekman Pumping kuat.

The flamboyant tropical cyclone is a tropical cyclone that occurs in the Indian Ocean of Southwest Sumatra waters. This study aims to determine the characteristics of a flamboyant tropical cyclone based on the wind speed, curl, and Ekman Pumping data in the form of surface wind component data and their connection between the pattern of distribution of sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a. Wind component data will be used to identify the pattern of speed and the movement of the flamboyant tropical cyclone direction. This study used Curl data to support the identification of tropical cyclone rotation patterns and Ekman Pumping data was used to identify the presence of upwelling. Sea Surface Temperature and Chlorophyll-a data will be used for the overlay method with surface wind parameters which are then analyzed for their connection. Resulting that we indicate if the Flamboyan tropical cyclone occurs the wind speed will increase to 21 m/s and represent a movement pattern from the Northeast to the Southwest tending to the South. The connection of the Flamboyan tropical cyclone that occurs between the current sea pattern, Sea Surface Temperature, and Chlorophyll-a represent by the increasing value of wind velocity and a strong positive value of rotation pattern, the concentration of Sea Surface Temperature will decrease and the concentration of chlorophyll-a will increase due to upwelling as the effect of the strong Ekman mechanism pumping.
