Vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) merupakan jenis udang yang telah banyak dibudidayakan di beberapa wilayah Indonesia. Proses pembenihan udang vaname sangat bergantung pada pakan alami yang digunakan. Fitoplankton merupakan pakan alami yang sering digunakan dalam pembenihan larva udang. Pakan alami yang diberikan diharapkan mampu memberikan pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kelulushidupan yang baik bagi larva udang vaname. Thalassiosira sp. merupakan salah satu pakan alami yang sering digunakan sebagai pakan alami larva udang, karena kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi dan ukuran yang sesuai untuk larva udang sehingga memudahkan larva udang melakukan pemangsaan terhadap fitoplankton jenis ini.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh perbedaan pemberian jumlah sel Thalassiosira sp. dalam feeding regimes terhadap perkembangan dan kelulushidupan larva udang vaname. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada oktober 2021 di Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP), UNDIP, Jepara, Jawa Tengah.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah perlakuan A, B, C, D, dan E dengan jumlah total Thalassiosira sp. yang berbeda yaitu 56 x104, 63 x104, 70 x104, 77 x104, dan 84x104 sel/ml. Larva udang vaname yang digunakan mulai dari stadia nauplii dan dipelihara di dalam toples yang berukuran 4 L, dan diisi air laut sebanyak 2 L. Padat tebar larva udang vaname adalah 100 ekor/L. Pemeliharaan larva udang vaname dilakukan selama 10 hari atau sampai dengan stadia post larva.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan pemberian jumlah sel Thalassiosira sp. dalam feeding regimes larva udang vaname memberikan pengaruh yang sama (P>0,05) terhadap perkembangan larva udang vaname. Namun, memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap total konsumsi pakan dan kelulushidupan larva udang vaname. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut didapatkanperlakuan Cdan D memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya, dengan nilai total konsumsi pakan perlakuan C sebesar 486.67±25.17 x103 sel/ml dan perlakuan D sebesar 480,00±20,00 x103 sel/ml serta tingkat kelulushidupan perlakuan C sebesar 76,30±2,25% dan perlakuan D sebesar 78,00±3,50%.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlakuan C dan D memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya, sehingga perlakuan tersebut dapat diterapkan dalam penggunaan Thalassiosira sp. pada feeding regime larva udang vaname.

(Muhammad Mustofa. 26020117130081. The Effects of Thalassiosira sp. in Feeding Regime on the Development and Survival Rate of Vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) Larvae. Diana Chilmawati and Subandiyono) Vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a species ofmarine shrimp that has been widely cultivated in several regions in Indonesia. The hatching process of vaname was highly dependent on the using of natural feed. Phytoplankton is a natural food that is often used in the vaname hatchery. The natural food given is expected to provide good growth, development, and survival for vaname shrimp larvae. Thalassiosira sp. is one of the natural foods that is often used as natural food for shrimp larvae, high nutritional content and suitable size for shrimp larvae make it easier for shrimp larvae to predate on this type of phytoplankton.
The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of different amounts of Thalassiosira sp. cells in feeding regimes on the development and survival of vaname larvae. This research was conducted at Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP), UNDIP, Jepara, Central Java.
The research method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments used were treatment A, B, C, D, and E with the total amount of Thalassiosira sp. as mus as 56x104, 63x104, 70x104, 77x104, and 84x104 cell/ml, respectively. The vaname larvae used starting from nauplii stadia, reared in jars with a size of 4 liters, and filled with seawater as much as 2 liters. Stocking density of vaname shrimp larvae was 100 larvae/liter. Maintenance of vaname shrimp larvae is carried out for approximately 10 days or until the post larva stage.
The data showed that differences amount of Thalassiosira sp. cells in the feeding regimes of vaname larvae resulted gave the same effect (P>0,05) on the development of vaname larvae. However, it gave a significantly different effect (P<0,05) on total feed consumption and survival rate values of vaname larvae. Based on these results, the best treatments were obtained in treatments C and D, on the total feed consumption value of 486.67±25.17x103 and 480.0± 20.00x103 cells/ml, and the survival rate values of 76.30±2.25% and 78.00±3.50%, respectively.
The conclusion of this research is that treatments C and D have better results than other treatments, so these treatments can be applied in the use of Thalassiosira sp. for the feeding regime of vaname larvae.
