Ikan nila salin (Oreochromis niloticus) merupakan salah satu komoditas penting dalam budidaya perikanan. Pengembangan dari strain ikan nila unggul yang dapat hidup di perairan dengan salinitas tinggi disebut dengan ikan nila SALINA atau Saline Tolerance Indonesian Tilapia. Ikan ini dapat hidup di air payau pada salinitas >20 ppt hingga 32 ppt. Pengembangan budidaya ikan nila salin di Indonesia belum banyak dilakukan. Salah satunya adalah keterbatasan benih ikan nila salin. Benih nila salin sebagian besar dipasok dari hasil pembenihan di air tawar yang menghasilkan kelulushidupan relatif rendah pada waktu dipelihara di tambak air payau. Untuk meningkatkan daya tahan terhadap salinitas yang tinggi, maka perlu disiapkan benih nila salin melalui metode adaptasi salinitas selama tahapan pendederan. Salinitas yang digunakan dalam media pendederan benih atau pemeliharaan larva diharapkan dapat memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupannya pada waktu pemeliharaan pembesaran di tambak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh adaptasi salinitas terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih O. niloticus selama tahap pendederan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 Januari 2023 hingga 10 Februari 2023 di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP), Jepara, Jawa Tengah. Hewan uji adalah benih O. niloticus berukuran 6 cm dengan padat tebar 1 ekor/1.5 L dengan pemberian pakan buatan menggunakan metode fix feeding rate sebanyak 5%/hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan tahapan perubahan salinitas yang diterapkan, yaitu kontrol/0 ppt, 1 ppt/1 hari, 2 ppt/2 hari, dan 3 ppt/3 hari. Penelitian dilakukan selama 30 hari. Pemantauan kualitas air dilakukan setiap hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan perubahan salinitas berpengaruh nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan (bobot mutlak dan SGR), tetapi tidak berpengaruh (P > 0,05) terhadap kelulushidupan dan panjang mutlak benih O. niloticus. Pertumbuhan terbaik dan kelulushidupan ditemukan pada perlakuan dengan salinitas 1 ppt/1 hari (S1), yaitu bobot mutlak sebesar 10,53 ± 0,64, panjang mutlak sebesar 2,9 ± 0,10, SGR sebesar 4,56 ± 0,15 dengan SR 100%. Kualitas air pada media pemeliharaan terdapat dalam kisaran layak untuk pemeliharaan benih O. niloticus.

Saline nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the important commodities in fishery cultivation. The development of superior fish strains that can live in waters with high salinity is called nile tilapia SALINA or Saline Tolerance Indonesian Tilapia. This fish can live in the time of means of the salinity more than 20 ppt up to 32 ppt. The development of fish cultivation of saline nile tilapia in Indonesia has not been done much. One of them is the limitations of the seeds of the saline nile tilapia. The seeds of the saline nile tilapia are largely supplied from the nursery ground in fresh water that produces relatively low residuity at the time maintained in the brackish water pond. To improve the endurance of high salinity, it is necessary to prepare the seed of the saline nile tilapia as the salinity adaptation method during the fish seeds nursing stage. Salinity used in the saline nile tilapia seeds or larvae breeding is expected to provide a positive effect on growth and its presence at the time of maintenance of enlargement in the pond. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of salinity adaptation on the growth and survival of saline nile tilapia during the fish seeds nursing stage. This study was conducted on January 9th to February 10th 2023 at the Brackish Water Aquaculture Center or Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP), Jepara, Central Java. Fish test is the seeds of saline nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) 6 cm with stock density 1 tail/1,5 L with artificial feeding used fix feeding rate methods of 5%/day. This research uses experimental method with complete random design (RAL) with four treatments and three replications. Treatment of salinity change that applied is control/0 ppt, 1 ppt/1 day, 2 ppt/2 days, and 3 ppt/3 days. The study was conducted for 30 days. Water quality monitoring is done daily. The results showed the difference in salinity changes in a real effect (P < 0,05) to growth, but not influential (P > 0,05) on survival rate and absolute length of O. niloticus seeds. The best growth and survival rate are found in treatment with a salinity of 1 ppt/1 day (S1), the absolute weight of 10,53 ± 0,64, an absolute length of 2,9 ± 0,10, SGR of 4,56 ± 0.15 with SR 100%. Water quality on maintenance media is within the reasonable range on maintenance of O. niloticus seeds.
