Kabupaten Kendal merupakan salah satu wilayah di Utara Jawa Tengah yang memiliki potensi sumberdaya kepiting bakau (Scylla spp.). Masyarakat di Kabupaten Kendal melakukan usaha penangkapan kepiting bakau (Scylla spp.) untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ekonomi. Umumnya masyarakat menggunakan alat
tangkap bubu lipat dan gill net untuk melakukan penangkapan kepiting bakau (Scylla spp.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teknis dan finansial usaha penangkapan kepiting bakau (Scylla spp.) dengan alat tangkap bubu lipat dan gill net. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi langsung, wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis break even point, R/C ratio, B/C ratio, dan payback period. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tahapan metode pengoperasian bubu lipat dan gill net yaitu persiapan menuju fishing ground, setting (penurunan alat tangkap) immersing (perendaman alat tangkap), hauling (pengangkatan alat tangkap). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat tangkap bubu lipat dan gill net layak untuk dijalankan karena alat tangkap bubu lipat memiliki nilai BEP harga Rp 43.286
(<harga jual); nilai BEP produksi 333 kg/tahun (<produksi/tahun); nilai R/C ratio 1,38 (>1); nilai B/C ratio 0,38 (>0); nilai PP selama 1 tahun 7 bulan sedangkan alat tangkap gill net memiliki nilai BEP harga Rp 41.480 (<harga jual); nilai BEP produksi 313 kg/tahun (<produksi/tahun); nilai R/C ratio 1,45 (>1); nilai B/C ratio 0,45 (>0); nilai PP selama 1 tahun 6 bulan. Gill net lebih layak dijalankan
dibandingkan dengan bubu lipat karena gill net mempunyai nilai R/C ratio dan B/C ratio yang lebih tinggi dari bubu lipat serta nilai BEP dan PP yang lebih rendah dari bubu lipat.

Kendal Regency is one of the areas in northern Central Java which has potential resources for mud crabs (Scylla spp.). Communities in Kendal Regency catch mud crabs (Scylla spp.) to fulfill their economic needs. In general, people use folding traps and gill nets to catch mud crabs (Scylla spp.). This study aims to analyze the technical and financial efforts of catching mud crabs (Scylla spp.) using folding traps and gill nets. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a survey approach. Data collection methods used are direct observation, interviews, literature and documentation. The analytical method used is break even point analysis, R/C ratio, B/C ratio, and payback period. Based on the research results, the stages of operating methods for folding traps and gill nets are preparation for fishing ground, setting (decreasing fishing gear), immersing (immersing fishing gear), hauling (raising fishing gear). The results showed that folding traps and gill nets are feasible to run because folding traps have a BEP value of IDR 43,286 (<sale price); production BEP value of 333 kg/year (<production/year); value of R/C ratio 1.38 (> 1); the B/C ratio value is 0.38 (>0); PP value for 1 year 7 months while gill net fishing gear has a BEP value of IDR 41,480 (<sale price); production BEP value of 313 kg/year (<production/year); value of R/C ratio 1.45 (> 1); the B/C ratio value is 0.45 (> 0); PP value for 1 year 6 month. Gill nets is more feasible to run than folding traps because gill nets have a higher R/C ratio and B/C ratio than folding traps. Then the BEP and PP values is lower if it as compared with folding traps.
