Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat merupakan salah satu sungai besar di kota Semarang yang bermuara ke laut melalui Pantai Marina. Sungai ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh kegiatan manusia terutama dari daratan meliputi pemukiman, industri, tambak, dan pelabuhan, yang mempengaruhi kenaikan kandungan nutrien salah satunya fosfat.
Muara merupakan wilayah terjadinya proses biogeokimia yang membawa dan mengubah fluks nutrient dari darat ke laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa konsentrasi dan sebaran fosfat dari muara ke laut lepas yang dapat mempengaruhi
produktivitas perairan disekitar Muara Banjir Kanal Barat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada musim peralihan di bulan Agustus dengan metode Kuantitatif yang analisanya ditekankan pada data numerik. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling yang dapat merepresentasikan keadaan area perairan secara keseluruhan. Perhitungan konsentrasi fosfat dilakukan dengan metode Kolorimetri yang menggunakan spektrofotometer sebagai alat analisa. Konsentrasi fosfat yang didapatkan berkisar antara 6,68-0,16 μmol. Data yang didapatkan diolah kedalam peta
sebaran dan diketahui semakin ke arah laut lepas nilai sebaran konsenrasi semakin menurun.

ABSTRACT

(Eriska Florentina Manurung, 26050118120028, Horizontal Distribution of Phosphate in the Estuary Area of Banjir Kanal Barat, Semarang, Central Java Sri Yulina Wulandari and Muslim).

Banjir Kanal Barat River is a significant river in Semarang City which empties into the sea via the Marina Beach. This river heavily influenced by human activity especially from land includes settlements, industry, ponds, and harbors which affects the increase of nutrient and one of it is phosphat. Estuaries are areas where
biogeochemical processes occur that carry and change nutrient fluxes from land to sea. This study aims to analyze the concentration and distribution of phosphate from the estuary to the open sea which can affect the productivity of the waters around the
Banjir Kanal Barat Estuary. This research was conducted during the transitional season in August with a quantitative method whose analysis emphasized numerical data. Sampling locations were determined by purposive sampling which could represent the
condition of the water area as a whole. Phosphate concentration calculations were carried out using the colorimetric method using a spectrophotometer as an analytical tool. The phosphate concentration obtained ranged from 6.68-0.16 μmol. The data
obtained is processed into a distribution map and it is known that the more towards the high seas the concentration distribution value decreases.
