(Armeilia Ardiva Isabella. 26040119130183. Kajian Biodegradasi Pewarna Tekstil Azo dan Rhodamin B oleh Kapang Asosiasi Spons Laut Penicillium Citrinum RA.S.1 dan Penicillium Citrinum RA.S.2. Agus Trianto & Ambariyanto)

ABSTRACT
(Armeilia Ardiva Isabella. 26040119130183. Biodegradation Study of Azo and Rhodamine B Textile Dyes by The Marine Sponge Association Mold Penicillium citrinum RA.S.1 and Penicillium citrinum RA.S.2. Agus Trianto & Ambariyanto)
A large number of textile industries causes a negative impact in the form of liquid waste. Textile wastewater contains many hazardous compounds that can damage aquatic ecosystems and human health. This study aims to determine the potential and rate of biodegradation of textile dyes by the marine sponge Penicillium citrinum. There are isolates of P.citrinum (P. citrinum RA.S.1 and P. citrinum RA.S.2) derived from the isolation of sponges from Raja Ampat, Papua, Indonesia. The isolates were incubated on Potato Dextrose Agar for 3-4 days. The biodegradation test was carried out by enriching the Potato Dextrose Agar medium with textile dyes (Azo Mordan Black, Azo Dark Blue, and Rhodamin B) with concentration of 100 ppm and 200 ppm. The incubated agar plug was placed on top of the test medium and incubated for 2 x 7 days at room temperature. Observation of the colour changes that occur in the medium at D-0, D-7 and D-14. Decolorization power is visually seen based on the actual change of dye and with Photoshop's CMYK Photo Analysis. The rate of degradation was quantitatively analysed using a UV-Spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 200-800 nm. The results showed that Azo Mordan Black was able to degrade the highest with a value of 56% 100 ppm, 56% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.1 and 62% 100 ppm, 61% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.2. Rhodamine B degradation showed the lowest value with 41% 100 ppm, 42% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.1 and 37% 100 ppm, 32% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.2. Meanwhile, Azo Dark Blue degradation has a value of 47% 100 ppm, 46% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.1 and 46% 100 ppm, 57% 200 ppm by P. citrinum RA.S.2. It can be concluded that the mold associated with the sea sponge Penicillium citrinum is able to degrade textile dyes by absorbing the color.
