Abstract

ABSTRAK

Terhadap Pertumbuhan Kappaphycus alvarezii (Doty Ex Silva 1985) Dengan
Metode Rakit Apung di Perairan Jepara. AB Susanto & Rini Pramesti).
Rumput laut K. alvarezii merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan
bernilai ekonomis tinggi dan telah dibudidayakan secara komersial. K. alvarezii
salah satu rumput laut yang berasal dari divisi Rhodophyta yang memiliki
morfologi holdfast dan menempel pada substrat. Penelitian ini bertujuan
mengetahui cara budidaya rumput laut K. alvarezii dengan teknik rakit apung, serta
3 perlakuan pada kedalaman K1 (35 cm), K2 (45 cm), dan K3 (55 cm). Masingmasing perlakuan dilakukan 3 ulangan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan RAL
(Rancangan Acak Lengkap) 3 x 3. Parameter perairan yang diujikan meliputi laju
pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR), suhu, salinitas, Ph, kecerahan, arus, nitrit, nitrat, dan
fosfat. Penelitian dilakukan di perairan laut Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air
Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara selama 35 hari. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis
ANOVA. Pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu pada laju pertumbuhan dan parameter
lingkungan. Hasil penelitian telah didapatkan rerata laju pertumbuhan spesifik
(SGR) pada perlakuan K1 (35 cm) 2,7%, K2 (45 cm) 2,6% dan K3 (55 cm) 0,9%.
Pertumbuhan rumput laut terbaik di dapatkan pada perlakuan K1, namun tidak
berpengaruh secara signifikan (p < 0,05), sedangkan hasil pengujian parameter
lingkungan diapatkan rerata nilai suhu sebesar 29-32oC, salinitas 27-32 ppt, pH 8,4
dan kecepatan arus 0,5 m/s. Pengujian kadar nitrit didapatkan hasil sebesar 0,08
mg/L, nitrat 0,24 mg/L dan fosfat 0,14 mg/L.

K. alvarezii seaweed is a fishery commodity with high economic value and
has been cultivated commercially. K. alvarezii is a seaweed from the Rhodophyta
division which has a holdfast morphology and attaches to the substrate.This study
aimed to find out how to cultivate K. alvarezii seaweed with the floating raft
technique, as well as 3 treatments at depths of K1 (35 cm), K2 (45 cm), and K3 (55
cm). Each treatment was carried out by three repetitions. The research design used
RAL (Complete Random Design) 3 x 3. The parameters of the waters tested
included specific growth rate (SGR), temperature, salinity, Ph, brightness,
currents, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate. The research was conducted in the sea
waters of the Jepara Brackish Water Aquaculture Center (BBPBAP) for 35 days.
Processing data using ANOVA analysis. The tests carried out on the growth rate
and environmental parameters.The results of this study have obtained the average
specific growth rate (SGR) in treatment K1 (35 cm) 2,7%, K2 (45 cm) 2,6% and K3
(55 cm) 0,9%. The best seaweed growth was obtained in the K1 treatment, but had
no significant effect (p <0.05), while the environmental parameter test results
obtained an average temperature value of 29- 32oC, 27- 32 ppt salinity, pH 8.4 and
current velocity 1.7 km/hour. The testing for nitrite levels obtained results of 0.08
mg/L, nitrate 0.24 mg/L and phosphate 0.14 mg/L.
