Abstract

Ekstrak Daun Murbei (Morus Alba) terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Kelulushidupan Udang Jerbung (Penaeus merguensis) (Diana Rachmawati dan Dewi Nurhayati).
Daun Murbei (Morus Alba) merupakan salah satu bahan yang mengandung
ecdysteroid. Ecdysteroid dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan dan molting. Semakin
sering udang mengalami molting, maka pertumbuhannya semakin cepat. Namun,
peristiwa molting bervariasi, bergantung jenis, musim, dan faktor internal seperti
hormon. Dalam melakukan satu kali molting, udang memerlukan banyak persiapan,
seperti menyiapkan cadangan energi dalam jumlah besar dan peningkatan hormon
molting (ecdysteroid). Oleh karna itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk
mengkaji pengaruh ekstrak daun murbei dalam pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan
kelulusan udang jerbung dan menentukan dosis optimum pada ekstrak daun murbei.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap
(RAL) dengan 5 perlakuanan 3 ulangan. Ekstrak tanaman ekstrak daun murbei
dalam pakan, yaitu dengan dosis 0, 0,9, 1,8, 2,7 dan 3,6 mg/g. Parameter yang
diamati meliputi efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, laju pertumbuhan relatif, frekuensi
molting, tingkat kanibalisme dan kelulushidupan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa penambahan ekstrak daun murbei berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap laju
petrumbuhan relatif (5,85%/hari) , efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan (58%/hari),
frekuensi molting (62%/hari), kelulushidupan (75%/hari) dan tidak berpengaruh
nyata (P>0,05) terhadap tingkat kanibalisme. Dosis optimum ekstrak daun murbei
dalam pakan berkisar antara 1,83 – 2,37 mg/g yang dapat memberikan RGR (2,34
%/hari), EPP (2,37 %), kelulushidupan (2,02 %) dan frekensi molting (1,83 x/ekor).

Mulberry leaves (Morus Alba) is one of the materials that contain
ecdysteroid. Ecdysteroid can accelerate growth and molting. The more often
shrimp molt, the faster their growth. However, molting events vary depending on
species, season, and internal factors such as hormones. In performing one molting,
shrimp require a lot of preparation, such as preparing large amounts of energy
reserves and increasing molting hormones (ecdysteroid). Therefore, this study was
conducted with the aim of examining the effect of mulberry leaf extract in feed on
the growth and graduation of jerbung shrimp and determining the optimum dose of
mulberry leaf extract. This study used an experimental method with a complete
randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. Plant extracts of
mulberry leaf extract in feed, namely at a dose of 0, 0.9, 1.8, 2.7 and 3.6 mg/g.
Parameters observed included feed utilization efficiency, relative growth rate,
molting frequency, cannibalism rate and survival. The results showed that the
addition of mulberry leaf extract had a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed
utilization efficiency (58%/day), relative growth rate (5,85%/day) and molting
frequency (62%/day), survival (75%/day) and no significant effect (P>0.05) on the
level of cannibalism. The optimum dose of mulberry leaf extract in feed ranged from
1.83 - 2.37 mg/g which could provide RGR (2.34 %/day), EPP (2.37 %), survival
(2.02 %) and molting frequency (1.83 x/head).
