Mangrove dengan Kandungan Bahan Organik Sedimen di Pesisir Kota Semarang.

Mangrove merupakan salah satu komponen ekosistem pesisir yang
memegang peranan penting, yaitu sebagai pemelihara produktivitas perairan.
Ekosistem mangrove dapat menjaga area yang berada di belakangnya dari
hempasan angin serta gelombang laut yang kencang. Kondisi habitat mangrove
pada satu tempat dan tempat lainya memiliki perbedaan tipe komunitas serta
keberadaan jenis pohon yang dominan. Adanya zonasi pertumbuhan mangrove ini
disebabkan oleh perbedaan kandungan bahan organik sedimen dan jenis substrat
pada masing-masing jenis mangrove.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai kerapatan dan
kandungan bahan organik sedimen pada kawasan mangrove serta apakah terdapat
hubungan yang saling mempengaruhi diantara kedua indikator tersebut. Penelitian
dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2022. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah
eksploratif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, yang mana dilakukan secara bertahap
dimulai dari pengambilan data kerapatan mangrove dan sampel sedimen dengan
cara purposive sampling, pengukuran nilai kerapatan mangrove, analisis ukuran
butir sedimen, serta menganalisis kandungan bahan organik sedimen dengan
metode Loss In Ignition. Uji regresi linier sederhana dilakukan untuk mengetahui
hubungan antara kerapatan mangrove dengan kandungan bahan orgnaik total.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan kerapatan mangrove pada kawasan mangrove
Mangunharjo, Semarang yang paling tinggi terdapat pada stasiun 1 yaitu 0,18
ind/m² dan kerapatan terendah pada stasiun 3 yaitu 0,04 ind/m². Kandungan bahan
organik terbanyak pada stasiun 1 sebesar 20,56 % dan terkecil pada stasiun 3
dengan 0,48 %. Hasil uji regresi menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan kuat
antara kerapatan mangrove dengan kandungan bahan organik sedimen, hal ini
ditunjukkan dengan nilai koefisien relasi (r) sebesar 0,787.

Mangroves are one of the components of the coastal ecosystem which plays
an important role, namely as a maintainer of water productivity. The mangrove
ecosystem can protect the area behind it from the wind and strong sea waves. The
condition of mangrove habitat in one place and another has different types of
communities and the presence of dominant tree species. The zoning of mangrove
growth is caused by differences in the content of sediment organic matter and the
type of substrate in each type of mangrove.
The purpose of this study was to determine the density and organic matter
content of sediments in the mangrove area and whether there is a mutually
influencing relationship between the two indicators. The research was conducted
in February 2022. The research method used was explorative with a quantitative
approach, which was carried out in stages starting from collecting density data
and sediment samples by means of purposive sampling, measuring density values,
analyzing sediment grain size, analyzing the organic matter content of sediments
by Loss In Ignition method. As well as conducting a simple linear regression test
to determine the relationship between mangrove density and total organic matter
content.
The results showed that the density of mangroves in the Mangunharjo
mangrove area, Semarang was the highest at station 1, namely 0.18 ind/m² and
the lowest density at station 3, namely 0.04 ind/m². The highest organic matter
content was at station 1 of 20.56% and the smallest was at station 3 with 0.48%.
The results of the regression test stated that there was a strong relationship
between mangrove density and sediment organic matter content, this was
indicated by the relation coefficient (r) of 0.787.
