Abstract

This research aimed to design bilingual children's storybook, "The Tales of Wisdom", for
Islamic elementary schools and was expected to be an interesting English learning medium.
The data collection techniques used were observation, interview instrument validation
questions, and feedback tests for students. Through the six stages of the R&D method, the
validation of the final results was discovered by experts, the English teacher, the fifth-sixth
grade homeroom teacher, and the lecturer. The product validation test outcomes for
bilingual children's storybook material exhibited a maximum score of 100% and a
minimum score of 85% in the "No revision needed". The language and translation
validation test resulted in a maximum score of 95% and a minimum score of 50% in the
"Revision needed" category. The language storybook design in the validation test achieved
a range of scores, with a maximum score got 100% and a minimum score of 87.5% in the
"No Revision Needed" category. The final total score found from the questionnaires of the
feasibility product was revised for the bilingual storybook. The results of the trials
conducted by ten students in fifth and sixth grade indicated that this bilingual storybook,
"The Tales of Wisdom," received a score of 100%, with categorizes the product of a
bilingual storybook can be an interesting English learning medium while instilling moral
values in elementary school students. The feasible product of a bilingual storybook was
evidenced by the students who were enthusiastic and interested from the start, saw the
cover, and then could read the English text.
