Abstract
Latar belakang.

Background. Pregnant women are the group most vulnerable to being infected with COVID-19. Women who are pregnant experience changes in their body and immunity so they may be at risk of COVID-19 infection. Pregnancy with COVID-19 infection can cause maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. However, further analysis has not been carried out regarding the relationship between COVID-19 infection and maternal and perinatal outcomes in pregnant women.
Objective. Analyzing maternal and perinatal outcomes in pregnant women infected with COVID-19 and without COVID-19 at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang City. Method. This research uses a retrospective cohort study and the sample collection uses the consecutive sampling method. The case population in this study is pregnant women infected with COVID-19, while the control population is pregnant women not infected with COVID-19 who have medical records for the period January-December 2021. The sample consists of 100 pregnant women infected with COVID-19 and 100 pregnant women without COVID-19. Data analysis used the Chi Square Test, then continued with Multivariate Logistic Regression.
Results. From the results of statistical analysis, it was found that COVID-19 infection had a significant relationship with the incidence of maternal outcomes, namely Sectio Caesaria (p=0.001; RR=2.00, 95% CI 1.411 – 2.836), ARDS (p=0.005; RR=6, 50, 95% CI 1.506-28.064) ICU admission (p=0.005; RR=6.50, 95% CI 1.506-28.064) and Maternal Mortality (p=0.003; RR=12.00, 95% CI 1.590–90.557) . Meanwhile, there were no perinatal outcomes related to COVID-19 infection.
Conclusion. COVID-19 poses a risk to maternal and perinatal outcomes in pregnant women, so routine health checks for pregnant women and increased health protocols are needed to prevent transmission.
