Abstract

The number of motorized vehicles in the Kulon Progo area each year cannot
be used as a benchmark to measure the success of motor vehicle tax collection.
Based on the reality that occurs, in the collection of motorized vehicle tax at the
Kulon Progo Samsat, the payment target is often not by the amount that should be,
for example in 2021 the tax revenue target is IDR 62,999,000,000.00 while what is
realized is IDR 62,526,286,500.00. This study used a quantitative approach with
data collection methods through questionnaires and documentation studies. The
results of this study indicate that taxpayer awareness, service quality, tax sanctions,
and tax socialization have a positive effect on the effectiveness of motorized vehicle
tax.
