Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a new curriculum that was approved on February 11 2022 as part of the launch of Merdeka Belajar Episode 15. The curriculum, which was approved by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education under the direction of Nadiem Anwar Makarim, is quite closely related to Science and Technology (IPTEK). The author conducted a study of implementation readiness in Boyolali Regency using qualitative methods with in-depth interviews, field observations, literature studies and audio studies. The research subjects consisted of 10 Activator Category Elementary Schools spread across 10 Districts in Boyolali Regency and 21 informants. The research results prove that some elementary schools were greatly helped by the School Mobilization Program funding incentive of 80 million in the first year for the digitalization of education. Without this funding, as many as 8 schools would not be ready to fully implement this curriculum in their educational units. The biggest obstacles and challenges lie in the process of adapting technology in educational units to meet the demands of digital transformation in the education sector. The author advises educators and policy actors to continue to be able to adapt to become lifelong learners and revolutionize their thinking/mindset as times change. The challenge for the future is how to foster an attitude of mutual belonging (sense of belonging) for all parties in the education unit in maintaining and caring for the facilities and infrastructure that support education.
