Abstract

(Thalassiosira sp.) dan Pakan Buatan terhadap Performa Pertumbuhan dan
Produksi Telur Copepoda Acartia sp. (Diana Chilmawati dan Vivi Endar
Herawati)
Copepoda Acartia sp. merupakan salah satu pakan alami yang potensial untuk
dikembangkan sebagai subtitusi pengganti artemia maupun rotifer sebagai pakan
larva ikan budidaya. Copepoda Acartia sp. merupakan sumber antioksidan yang
baik, astaxanthin, vitamin C dan E serta ukuran naupli yang kecil sesuai dengan
bukaan mulut larva ikan laut. Kultur copepoda Acartia sp. diperlukan pakan alami
fitoplankton untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi Acartia sp.
Thalassiosira merupakan fitoplankton yang dapat mendukung pertumbuhan
Acartia sp. Penggunaan pakan buatan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber nutrisi
yang tepat untuk mendukung budidaya kopepoda karena tersedia setiap saat.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan kombinasi terbaik pakan
alami (Thalassiosira sp.) dan pakan buatan terhadap performa petumbuhan dan
produksi telur kopepoda Acartia sp. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode
eksperimen dan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dan
3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan dengan masing-masing kombinasi (A)
Pakan buatan 0% : pakan alami (Thallasisoria sp) 100%, (B) Pakan buatan 25% :
pakan alami (Thallasisoria sp) 75%, (C) Pakan buatan 50% : pakan alami
(Thallasisoria sp) 50%, (D) Pakan buatan 75% : pakan alami (Thallasisoria sp)
25%, dan (E) Pakan buatan 100% : pakan alami (Thallasisoria sp) 0%. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pakan alami (Thalassiosira sp.) dan
pakan buatan berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap kepadatan, laju pertumbuhan
relatif, laju pertumbuhan dan produksi telur Acartia sp. Perlakuan D (Pakan
buatan 75% : pakan alami (Thallasisoria sp) 25%) memberikan nilai terbaik pada
kepadatan total sebesar 6,38±0,39 ind/ml, laju pertumbuhan harian sebesar
0,22±0,008 ind/hari, laju pertumbuhan relatif sebesar 26,9±1,95 %/hari, dan
produksi telur sebesar 12,47±1,66 terlur/ind.

Copepod Acartia sp. is a natural food that has the potential to be developed as a
substitute for artemia and rotifers as feed for aquacultured fish larvae. Copepod
Acartia sp. is a good source of antioxidants, astaxanthin, vitamins C and E and
the size of the naupli is small according to the mouth opening of marine fish
larvae. Copepod culture Acartia sp. Phytoplankton natural food is needed to
increase the growth and production of Acartia sp. Thalassiosira is a
phytoplankton that can support the growth of Acartia sp. The use of artificial feed
can be used as an appropriate source of nutrition to support copepod cultivation
because it is available at any time. This study aims to determine the effect and the
best combination of natural feed (Thalassiosira sp.) and artificial feed on growth
performance and egg production of Acartia sp. This study used experimental
methods and completely randomized design (CRD) consist of 5 treatments and 3
replications. The treatments used with each combination (A) 0% artificial feed:
100% natural feed (Thallasisoria sp), (B) 25% artificial feed: 75% natural feed
(Thallasisoria sp), (C) 50% artificial feed: natural feed (Thallasisoria sp) 50%,
(D) artificial feed 75%: natural feed (Thallasisoria sp) 25%, and (E) artificial
feed 100%: natural feed (Thallasisoria sp) 0%. The results showed that the
combination of natural feed (Thalassiosira sp.) and artificial feed had a
significant effect (P<0.05) on density, relative growth rate, growth rate and egg
production of Acartia sp. Treatment D (75% artificial feed: natural feed
(Thallasisoria sp) 25%) gave the best value at a total density of 6.38±0.39 ind/ml,
daily growth rate of 0.22±0.008 ind/day, relative growth rate of 26.9±1.95%/day,
and egg production of 12,47±1,66 eggs/ind.
