Abstract

This research focuses on addressing the English language acquisition needs
of novice tour guides in the tourism sector, specifically in the context of tour
guiding. The aim of this study is to create a website called GuidEd. The study
utilizes a Research and Development methodology, incorporating both qualitative
and quantitative approaches. Data collection involves conducting interviews with
professional tour guides and academicians from Semarang, along with a literature
review and analysis of Indonesia's national working standards in the tourism sector.
Additionally, a questionnaire employing a Likert scale is used to gather feedback
from stakeholders. The research outcome is GuidEd, a website that provides
tailored English learning materials specifically designed for novice tour guides.
