Abstract

The daily protein needs of the Indonesian people derived from soybeans, especially tofu tempeh, are increasing, but on the other hand, Indonesia's soybean production tends to fall. This causes a deficit in national soybean needs which results in tofu tempeh producers being short of raw materials if they don’t procure and control raw material inventory appropriately. This study aims to analyze the procurement system and control of efficient soybean raw material inventory at the South Jakarta Primkopti Tempe Tofu Production Center. The research method used is the case study method. Data analysis was carried out by comparative descriptive analysis of raw material procurement in the form of six precise implementations, quantitative analysis by calculating effective raw material inventory figures through the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, then comparing them with actual conditions and calculating the efficiency value of raw material inventory costs. Hypothesis testing is using the paired sampe t-test. The results showed that the procurement of raw materials at Sentra has met the criteria but needs improvement in terms of quantity. The economical amount of soybean raw material orders according to the EOQ method is 27,160 kg with an order frequency of 18 times a year. The amount of safety stock is 11,133 kg with a reorder point of 12,465 kg. The maximum inventory that should be done is 38,293 kg. The total cost of soybean raw material inventory in 2022 based on actual conditions is IDR 15,785,760, greater than the EOQ method which is IDR 3,259,157. If using the EOQ method, the South Jakarta Primkopti Tempe Tofu Production Center can achieve an inventory cost efficiency of 79% or can save inventory costs of IDR 12,526,603 per year.
