Abstract

Latar belakang: WHO memprediksi peningkatan jumlah penderita diabetes di Indonesia dari 8,4 juta pada tahun 2000 menjadi sekitar 21,3 juta pada tahun 2030. Penanda lain untuk mengukur resistensi insulin adalah homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Bedah bariatrik merupakan terapi yang paling efektif bagi pasien baik dalam hal penurunan berat badan maupun perbaikan penyakit terkait obesitas seperti Diabetes Melitus (DM) Tipe-2. TUJUAN: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan adanya perbaikan nilai HOMA Beta dan diameter pulau langerhans pada tikus diabetes mellitus tipe 2 yang dilakukan Sleeve Gastrectomy dan Omentoplasty Pankreas. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan desain post-test control melibatkan 18 ekor tikus Sprague-Dawley jantan. Sampel dibagi menjadi 1 kelompok kontrol dan 2 kelompok perlakuan (Sleeve gastrectomy dan Omentoplasty). Kadar glukosa dan pankreas tikus diukur dengan menggunakan metode HOMA IR dan metode blok Hematoxylin eosin-parafin. Data pulau langerhans diukur dengan menggunakan ANOVA, sedangkan nilai HOMA Beta diukur dengan uji Mann Whitney dan Kruskall Wallis. Hasil: Nilai HOMA Beta pada kelompok perlakuan P1 (Sleeve gastrectomy) dan kelompok P2 (Sleeve gastrectomy + omentoplasty) secara statistik berbeda dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Diameter sel pulau langerhans pada kelompok perlakuan 1 dan 2 tidak berbeda secara statistik dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Nilai HOMA Beta dan diameter langerhans berkorelasi sedang. Kesimpulan: Sleeve Gastrectomy dan Omentoplasty Pankreas pada tikus diabetes mellitus tipe 2 meningkatkan nilai HOMA Beta dan diameter pulau langerhans.
