Abstract

This study aims to examine the imposition of martial law against civilians during the Russo-Ukrainian War. Data were collected through literature review and document analysis of primary and secondary sources. The findings of the study revealed that martial law was imposed as a response to the escalating conflict
between Russia and Ukraine, which threatened the security and stability of the region. The imposition of martial law had significant impacts on civilians, including restrictions on civil liberties, economic disruption, and human rights violations.
Additionally, it was found that the imposition of martial law was the solution that brought up to charge in order to maintain effective in resolving the conflict and had a various impact on the civilian population. This study concludes that the imposition of martial law during the Russo-Ukrainian War had a detrimental effect on civilians and was not a suitable solution to the
escalating conflict. It suggests that alternative measures, such as diplomatic efforts and humanitarian aid, should be considered in similar situations to minimize the negative impact on civilians. The study also highlights the need for further research
on the subject to better understand the dynamics of imposing martial law in times of war.
