Abstract

Fulfilling farmers' information needs is the main focus of information and communication technology applications in agriculture. The use of cyber extension is not only for information seeking but can also be utilized to disseminate agricultural technology innovations. This study aims describe the readiness of agricultural extension workers at Semarang City towards applying cyber extension in the era of digital extension, and analyze agricultural extension workes’ factors that influence them to apply cyber extension. The research was conducted from November to December 2022 at all Agricultural Extension Centers in Semarang City. The research method used was survey. Total respondents was 31 agricultural extension workers in Semarang City. Data collection methods were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis methods used were descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the readiness of agricultural extension workers in Semarang City to apply cyber extension is high. Age, formal education level, training, experience, motivation, and environmental factors have a simultaneous influence. Training, experience, and motivation have a partial influence; while age, formal education level, and environmental factors have no partial influence.
