Abstract

RINGKASAN
Muhammad Faiz Ilyas, 260 401 171 401 07. Analisis Struktur dan Komposisi
Serta Tutupan Kanopi Vegetasi Mangrove di Wisata Mangrove Demang Gedi
Gedangan Kabupaten Purworejo, Provinsi Jawa Tengah (Rudhi Pribadi dan Ita
Widowati).
Ekosistem mangrove adalah komunitas tumbuhan tropis yang berada di
daerah tepi pantai yang memiliki kemampuan adaptasi pada perairan asin di
wilayah intertidal yang dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut air laut. Kawasan pesisir dan
pulau - pulau kecil memiliki potensi sumber daya alam dan jasa lingkungan yang
tinggi dan produktif, salah satunya adalah hutan mangrove. Kesehatan vegetasi
mangrove dapat mempengaruhi kondisi ekosistem terkait di wilayah pesisir, yaitu
terumbu karang dan padang lamun. Penentuan tingkat kesehatan vegetasi mangrove
dapat dilakukan pemantauan dan inventarisasi struktur dan komposisi serta tutupan
kanopi hutan mangrove secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui mikrohabitat vegetasi mangrove mengenai struktur dan komposisi serta
tutupan kanopi vegetasi mangrove yang berada di wilayah wisata mangrove
Demang Gedi Gedangan, Kabupaten Purworejo, Provinsi Jawa Tengah.
Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Maret 2020 – Juli 2020. Secara
administratif penelitian dilakukan di wisata mangrove Demang Gedi Gedangan,
Kabupaten Purworejo, Provinsi Jawa Tengah yang terbagi di tiga titik penelitian,
yaitu Demang Gedi Stasiun 1 (DG 1), Demang Gedi Stasiun 2 (DG 2) dan Demang
Gedi Stasiun 3 (DG 3). Pengambilan data vegetasi mangrove dilakukan dengan
metode purposive sampling dan plot sampling. Setiap stasiun penelitian dilakukan
tiga kali pengulangan dan spesies mangrove diidentifikasi sesuai dengan ciri – ciri
fisiologis berdasarkan buku panduan identifikasi mangrove dan dilakukan
pengukuran diameter setinggi ± 1,3 m setiap individu pohon dan anakan (sapling)
yang berada di dalam plot 10 m x 10 m. Sementara semai (seedling) dihitung jumlah
masing – masing spesies yang berada di dalam plot penelitian. Tutupan kanopi
mangrove dianalisis menggunakan metode Hemispherical Photography yang
merupakan suatu metode fotografi yang menggunakan kamera dari bawah pohon
untuk menghitung luasan tutupan kanopi pohon. Luasan tutupan kanopi dapat
dianalisis dengan software ImageJ untuk menghitung dua kontras warna putih
menunjukkan langit dan hitam menunjukkan kanopi mangrove.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 8 komposisi vegetasi
mangrove. Nilai Kerapatan kategori pohon mangrove berkisar 466 – 8400 ind/ha.
Nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) dan Keseragaman (J’) mangrove di tiga lokasi
penelitian di Demang Gedi termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Hasil persentase
tutupan kanopi mangrove memiliki nilai berkisar 58,53 ± 1,76% – 81,28 ± 1,72%
sehingga dapat disimpulkan lokasi penelitian ini termasuk kategori baik (sedang).

Composition and Canopy Cover of Mangrove Vegetation in Mangrove Tourism
Demang Gedi Gedangan Purworejo Regency, Central Java Province (Rudhi
Pribadi and Ita Widowati).
Mangrove ecosystems are tropical plant communities located in coastal
areas that have the ability to adapt to salty waters in intertidal areas that are
affected by tides. Coastal areas and small islands have high and productive
potential for natural resources and environmental services, one of which is
mangrove forests. The health of mangrove vegetation can affect the condition of
related ecosystems in coastal areas, namely coral reefs and seagrass beds.
Determining the health level of mangrove vegetation can be carried out by
monitoring and inventorying the structure and composition as well as the canopy
cover of the mangrove forest comprehensively. This study aims to determine the
microhabitat of mangrove vegetation regarding its structure and composition
canopy cover of mangrove vegetation in Mangrove Tourism Demang Gedi
Gedangan Purworejo Regency, Central Java Province.
This research was conducted in March 2020 – July 2020. Administratively
the research was conducted in Mangrove Tourism Demang Gedi Gedangan
Purworejo Regency, Central Java Province, which is spread over three locations,
namely Demang Gedi Station 1 (DG 1), Demang Gedi Station 2 (DG 2) and
Demang Gedi Station 3 (DG 3). Mangrove vegetation data was collected using
purposive sampling and plot sampling methods. Each research station was
repeated three times by identifying mangrove species according to physiological
characteristics based on the mangrove identification manual and measuring the
diameter of ± 1.3 m for each individual tree and sapling in a 10 m x 10 m plot.
Meanwhile the number of each species in the research plot was counted.
Mangrove canopy cover was analyzed using the Hemispherical Photography
method, which is a photography method that uses a camera from under the tree to
calculate the tree canopy cover area. The area of canopy cover can be analyzed
using ImageJ software to calculate two contrasts of white showing the sky and
black showing the mangrove canopy.
Research resultsn indicates that there are 8 compositions of mangrove
vegetation. The density value of the mangrove tree category ranges from 466 to
8400 ind/ha. The value of the Diversity Index (H') and Uniformity (J') of mangroves
in the three research sites in Demang Gedi is in the low category. The percentage
yield of mangrove canopy cover ranges 58.53 ± 1.76% – 81.28 ± 1.72%, so it is
included in the good (medium) category.
