Abstract
The development of Mandalika resort area has been initiated since 1991 and up
until nowadays still not have significant impact on regional or national economic
development although many initiative and program has been conducted in this region.
Besides land disputes and land acquisition problems, Land use conflict is one of the main
challenges in development process of Mandalika Resort and Hinterland area. This
project is only focusing on the main area as an exclusive area and neglecting local
community participation. As the consequences, the resistance from local community has
increase since this mega project not truly represents their cultural heritage and
threatening their traditions and livelihoods in form of privatization especially in coastal
area. This research analyse the role and power of stakeholders that associate with
planning and development process in study area using Stakeholder mapping analysis. In
the next steps SWOT analyses is carried out to formulate a good land use policy in
Mandalika resort and hinterland area based on the local potencies.
