Abstract

Air is one of the important elements for living things. Indonesia is the country
with the 17th highest concentration of air pollution in the world. In general, the
average PM2.5 in Indonesia is 34.3 μg/m3 which is one of the causes in the
Industrial sector (IQAir, 2021). The Textile and Textile Products Industry (TPT)
contributes to absorbing a workforce of 3.65 million people (Ministry of Industry
of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). There are 43 textile and textile products
(TPT) industry companies from 146 companies in Klaten (BPS Kab. Klaten,
2017). PT XYZ is one of the major industries with >750 employees. PT. XYZ is
quite close to residential areas, so it has the potential to have a bad impact.
Besides that, PT. XYZ plans to increase its production capacity. This planning
aims to re-design emission control equipment with reference to the Minister of
Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 07 of 2007 and. The result of this
planning is known the process that produces emission pollutants in PT. XYZ,
which is a non-production activity, namely boiler units that produce 4 types of
emission pollutants including SO2, NO2, CO and Particulates (TSP). The air
pollution control tool (PPU) chosen is a Wet scrubber type Packed Tower with a
removal efficiency of 90-99%.can reduce the concentration of SO2 emissions:
72%, NO2: 92%, and Particulates: 90%.
