Yoannita, Monica. 2022. “The Love Type of the Character Sasaki Miyo in Anime
Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu by Mari Okada; Literary Psychological
Studies”. Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program Faculty of
Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Advisor: Nur Hastuti, S.S.,
M.Hum.
This thesis analyze the type of love of the main character Sasaki Miyo in the anime
Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu. The purpose of this research is to analyze the
narrative of the anime Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu and the love type of
the main character Sasaki Miyo. This research is a literature research using
qualitative methods and note-taking methods to collect data. The theory used in this
study is the narrative film Himawan Pratista, which includes stories and plots,
narrative relationships between space, narrative relationships between time,
caracterization, problems and conflicts, and goals. Robert J. Sternberg's love
triangle theory is used to analyze the love component of Sasaki Miyo's character,
namely the intimacy component, the passion component and the decision and
commitment component. The result is that there are three components of the love
triangle that make up Miyo's love, it is mean Miyo's love type is perfect love, where
this type of love is formed by components of intimacy, passion components and
components of decision and commitment.
