Fairuz Sukma Melany. 26020117140054. Pengaruh Intensitas Cahaya terhadap Pola
Pertumbuhan dan Kadar Lipid Thalassiosira sp.. (Suminto dan Diana Chilmawati).
Thalassiosira sp. merupakan jenis mikroalga laut tropis yang masuk ke dalam
kelas Bacillariophyceae. Pertumbuhan mikroalga ini dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor,
salah satunya yaitu intensitas cahaya karena pertumbuhan selnya berhubungan dengan
jumlah energi yang diterima saat fotosintesis. Pemberian intensitas cahaya yang cukup
juga akan mempengaruhi pembentukan kadar lipid dari Thalassiosira sp. Lipid ini
terbentuk dikarenakan adanya suhu media budidaya yang disebabkan oleh intensitas
cahaya sehingga akan memengaruhi kadar lipid Thalassisosira sp.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pengaruh pemberian intensitas cahaya
berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan kadar lipid Thalassiosira sp. dan mengetahui
intensitas cahaya yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan kandungan lipid terbaik terhadap
Thalassiosira sp.. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1 Juni – 20 Septemer 2021
di CV. Riz Samudra Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP) Undip, Jepara. Bahan uji
yang digunakan yaitu Thalassiosira sp. berasal dari stok inokuan laboratorium Pakan
Alami Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau, Jepara.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental menggunakan
Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yaitu perlakuan A
(intensitas 2000 lux), perlakuan B (intensitas 4000 lux) dan perlakuan C (intensitas
6000 lux). Thalassiosira sp. dikultur dengan 3 liter air laut steril dengan kepadatan
inikulan 100.000 sel/ml. Media yang digunakan untuk kultur yaitu media walne.
Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pemberian intensitas cahaya berbeda
berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pola pertumbuhan Thalassiosira sp..
Pemberian intensitas cahaya berbeda juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap kandungan
lipid Thalassiosira sp.. Intensitas cahaya 6000 lux merupakan intensitas cahaya terbaik
dalam penelitian yang menghasilkan waktu lag phase (-1,54 ± 0,15 hari), laju
pertumbuhan (0,53 ± 0,02 Log sel/mL/hari) , kepadatan sel tertinggi (2437500 sel/mL
atau 6,39 ± 0,01 Log sel/mL), kepadatan sel akhir (916667 sel/mL atau 5,94 ± 0,15 Log
sel/mL) dan kandungan nilai lipid terbaik dalam penelitian pada perlakuan A yaitu
berupa asam oleat 2,460%, asam laurat 1,745%, asam arakhidinat 2,625% dan asam
palmitat 2,233%.
Intensitas cahaya berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pola pertumbuhan
Thalassiosira sp. dan intensitas cahaya memberikan pengaruh terhadap kandungan
lipid Thalassiosira sp..

Lipid Content of Thalassiosira sp. (Suminto and Diana Chilmawati).
Thalassiosira sp. is a type of tropical marine microalgae that belongs to the class
Bacillariophyceae. Microalgae growth is influenced by many factors, one of which is
light intensity because cell growth is related to the amount of energy received during
photosynthesis. Provision of sufficient light intensity will also affect the formation of
lipid levels of Thalassiosira sp. These lipids are formed due to the temperature of the
culture media caused by light intensity so that it will affect the lipid levels of
Thalassisosira sp.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of different light intensities
on growth and lipid content of Thalassiosira sp. and determine the light intensity that
gives the best growth and lipid content of Thalassiosira sp.. This research was
conducted on 1 June – 20 September 2021 at CV. Riz Samudra Marine Science Techno
Park (MSTP) Undip, Jepara. The test material used is Thalassiosira sp. from the
inoquant stock of the Natural Feed Laboratory of the Center for Brackish Water
Aquaculture Fisheries, Jepara.
The research method used is an experimental method using a randomized block
design with 3 treatments and 4 replications, namely treatment A (intensity 2000 lux),
treatment B (intensity 4000 lux) and treatment C (intensity 6000 lux). Thalassiosira sp.
cultured with 3 liters of sterile seawater at an iniculan density of 100,000 cells/ml. The
media used for culture is Walne media.
The results showed that the application of different light intensities significantly
(P<0.05) on the growth pattern of Thalassiosira sp. time lag phase (-1,54 ± 0,15 days),
growth rate (0,53 ± 0,02 Log cells/mL/day), highest cell density (2437500 cells/mL or
6,39 ± 0,01 Log cells/mL), final cell density (916667 cells/mL or 5,94 ± 0,15 Log
cells/mL) and the best lipid content in the study in treatment A in the form of oleic acid
2,460%, lauric acid 1,745%, arachidinic acid 2,625% and palmitic acid 2,233%.
The effect of light intensity significantly (P<0.05) on the growth pattern of
Thalassiosira sp. and light intensity affect the lipid content of Thalassiosira sp..
