Sungai Babon, Semarang dengan Metode Trophic State Index (TSI) (Haeruddin
dan Arif Rahman)
Sungai Babon merupakan salah satu sungai yang berada di Semarang dan
digunakan masyarakat untuk aktivitas sehari-hari. Kesuburan perairan merupakan
salah satu indikator untuk melihat kondisi perairan, sehingga didapatkan informasi
guna pemanfaatan dan pengelolan perairan secara tepat. Tujuan penelitian untuk
mengetahui kualitas air dan status kesuburan perairan di Sungai Babon. Metode
pengumpulan data lapangan menggunakan purposive sampling dimana stasiun 1
mewakili hulu, stasiun 2 mewakili bagian tengah, dan stasiun 3 mewakili hilir.
Kesuburan perairan ditentukan dengan metode Trophic State Index (TSI) Carlson
(1977). Pengambilan sampel air dilakukan dua kali pada bulan November 2021 dan
Januari 202 2. Variabel yang diamati untuk mengetahui kesuburan perairan adalah
nilai kecerahan, total fosfat, dan klorofil-a. Variabel kualitas air lainnya yaitu nitrat,
Dissolved Oxygen (DO), pH, kecepatan arus, debit, dan temperatur. Hasil kualitas
air masih sesuai dengan baku mutu air menurut PP RI no. 22 tahun 2021 untuk
sungai dengan peruntukan air kelas II dan III. Hasil perhitungan TSI m emiliki
tingkat kesuburan eutrofik dengan rentang nilai TSI berkisar 60,95 – 64, 98 pada
sampling pertama dan 60,56 – 61,85 pada sampling kedua. Hasil analisis statistik
regresi linear berganda untuk melihat pengaruh nit rat dan total fosfat sebagai
nutrien terhadap keberadaan klorofil-a tidak ada pengaruh secara simultan nitrat
dan fosfat terhadap keberadaan klorofil-a dengan koefisien determinasi yang
diperoleh sebesar 21,3%. Regresi linear berganda yang diujikan pada va riabel TSI
(kecerahan, total fosfat, dan klorofil-a) terhadap nilai TSI memiliki pengaruh secara
simultan dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 99,5%.

Babon River is one of the rivers in Semarang and used by the community for daily
activities. Water fertility is an indicator to see the condition of the waters so that
information is obtained for the proper use and management of waters. The purpose
of the study was to determine the water quality and fertility status of the waters in
the Baboon River. The field data collection method uses purposive sampling where
station 1 represents the upstream, station 2 represents the middle, and stat ion 3
represents the downstream. The fertility of the waters was determined by the
Trophic State Index (TSI) Carlson (1977) method. Water sampling was carried out
twice in November 2021 and in January 2022. The variables observed to determine
the fertility of the waters are the brightness values, total phosphate, and
chlorophyll-a. Other water quality variables are nitrate, Dissolved Oxygen (DO),
pH, current velocity, discharge, and temperature. Water quality results are still by
water quality standards according to PP RI no. 22 of 2021 for rivers with classes
II and III. The results of the TSI calculation have a n eutrophic fertility rate with a
range of TSI values ranging from 60.95 – 64.98 in the first sampling and 60.56 –
61.85 in the second sampling. The results of statistical analysis of multiple linear
regression to see the influence of nitrates and total phosphates as nutrients on the
presence of chlorophyll-a from the studies conducted there was no simultaneous
influence of nitrates and phosphates on the presence of chlorophyll-a with the
coefficient of determination obtained was 21.3%. Multiple linear regression tested
on TSI variables (brightness, total phosphate, and chlorophyll -a) on TSI values has
a simultaneous influence with a coefficient of determination of 99,5%.
